There are 5 audio cassette tapes in the "Letters From Wingfield Farm" Series. This is the first.
Letter from Wingfeild farm, based on the letters written by Dan Needles under the pen name of Walt Wingfield for the Shelburne Free Press and Economist from 1974-1977, was first performed in 1984 and has toured extensively across Canada.
In this one man play, actor Rod Beattie brings alive Walt Wingfield, stock broker gone farmer. Walt recounts his hilarious adventures and misadventures during his first year back on the farm where he tries to combine Bay Street with corporate strategy with rural Ontario farming.
Through Walt's wacky descriptions of his life on the farm, the audience meets one of his ducks that wabbles when it walks, his ex-racer horse that can only turn left and his neighbours in the fictional town of Larkspur, Ontario who are not quite sure what to make of Walt's optimistic attitude and interesting farming practices.
